Business and Intelligent Decision Support Systems: A decision support system is a data system that assists a business make decisions that require sequence,
judgment, and determination of actions. A decision support system generates data reports that are detailed by collecting and analyzing information. For that reason, a
DSS is distinct from a common operations application, where it aims to gather information though not to analyze the information (Corporate Finance Institute, 2020).
A DSS is utilized in an organization by the planning departments like the operations department that gathers information and develops a report that can be uti-
lized by managers for making decisions. One of the vital applications of DSS in a company is real-time reporting. It can be very important for an organization that par-
ticipate in just-in-time inventory management. Business Intelligence: Business intelligence can be applied in sales intelligence. A critical application of Business Intelli-
gence concentrates on where the business meets the consumer. The negotiation of a customer is an essential skill that every sales department of an organiza-
tion should bring up. Sometimes it can be hard to move leads along the pipeline and convince potential consumer to buy the organization’s products and services.
Business Intelligence collects information on particular KPIs such as conversion rates, customer demographics, and sales metrics. It then organizes the in-
formation into structured visualizations like scattergrams, pie charts and graphs. The users can recognize trends from this data that give insights into the operation of
the business and consumer behavior. Knowing the client means the organization can serve them better. The dashboards and reports developed by business intelli-
gence are also very helpful for back up claims with easy-to-interpret data for potential customers (Bergen Adair, 2020). The information gleaned from business
intelligence analysis can be utilized by managers to make decisions that are data-driven based on hard data and forecasting. Analytics: One of the applications of ana-
lytic in an organization is measuring performance. Companies can use analytical tools to determine the performance benchmark of the employee and coach incoming
and existing workers to understand those qualities and their effects (Michiganstateuniversity, 2020). Some companies analyze travel data and billing hours, and hu-
man performance information to assist people boost their professional performance and energy, and wellness.

IBM Watson
Exercise 15
This report aims to summarize IBM Watson’s activities in the field of healthcare. IBM Watson Health was developed to aid find solution to some of the most seri-
ous challenges concerning health in the world via AI, data, and analytics. By incorporating augmented intelligence and human experts, IBM Watson health aids
healthcare researchers and professionals all over the globe interpret knowledge and data into understanding to make more decisions that are informed on care in
many health facilities, hospitals and a large, expanding body of evidence back the use of Watson in healthcare. (Speights, 2018) The system helps healthcare programs
by sifting via unstructured and structured client data and the contemporary evidence-based medicine, regulatory requirements, and quality standards. IBM Wat-
son for Drug Discovery helps accelerate the process of bringing a new drug to the market. The IBM Watson does not recommend for treatment of cancer on itself. Still,
the role possibility is for artificial intelligence to enhance the overall and consistent quality of cancer care very quick to free up healthcare providers to spend more
time in care delivery to the patients. One difficulty with development of drug that is underappreciated is recognizing which clients meet the required standard for
distinct clinical trials. This is an incredibly intimidating job with cancer drugs, taking into account that there are almost one thousand cancer immunotherapies in that
are being developed and even more in pre-clinical testing, most of which would promote human studies. This is where IBM Watson’s Clinical Trial Matching system
comes in. The system eradicates the necessity to contrast clinical trial enrollment basis manually with client medical information.
