2. Conduct a hypothesis test to determine if the factors are independent:
a. (2 pts.) What are the parameters of interest?
b. (2 pts.) Are the assumptions satisfied?
c. (1 pt.) What are the hypotheses?
d. (2 pts.) What is the formula for the test statistic, and the distribution for the test statistic? Be sure
to include the degrees of freedom.
e. (5 pts.) Calculate the test statistic. You may want to create a table such as the one below in
Excel. Please include all work and/or table.
