s you know, social justice and advocacy are important aspects of addiction counseling. As such, groups exist that are dedicated to advocating for specific cultural groups. Research and choose a social justice or advocacy group that you connect with, focused on substance use prevention or recovery. Discuss how this group addresses the social, political, economic, and cultural factors that contribute to substance abuse within a specific population. What relevant educational programs (formal or informal) does the advocacy group use to raise awareness about substance abuse, support prevention, and promote recovery?

Select two different cultural populations with differing faith traditions. What strategies would you use to address prevention, treatment programs, and positive change (staying abstinent) for each of the selected populations? What factors would contribute to these groups being at risk for increased drug or alcohol problems?
