American Dream in the United States

Part 1:

Write a 500-word response that examines one argument position related to the American Dream in the United States:

• American Dream A Myth
• Reeves and Krause: Raj Chetty
• Frontline/PBS Poor Kids

As you respond, shoot to include at least two sources, but you are welcome to push for three. Since essay three requires you to argue a position on the American Dream, consider the following:

• To what degree, do you think the American Dream is possible in the United States? Why?
• To what degree, do you think the American Dream is possible for certain groups? Why?
• To what degree, does social class play in obtaining the American Dream? Why?

Part 2: Argument and Evidence Gathering

Before completing the discussion post, you will need to complete the Essay 3 Evidence Chart. You will be posting the chart. You are welcome to digitally fill in the chart and attach a copy, or you can create each chart on paper and upload pictures.
