1. Identify the x- and y-intercepts of y = |x +11 – 3
2. Use algebraic tests to check y = 3×3 for symmetry with respect to:

c. The origin
3. Write the equation of a circle for which the endpoints of a diameter are (-2,-2) and (4,-10)
4. Solve the following equations
a. 7(x – 1) = 1-(x +9)

5. Find the slope of the line that passes through (-1,6) and (3,-2).
6. Find the equation of the line that is parallel to 2x + 3y = 5 and passes through (-8,3)
7. A manuscript translator charges a standing fee of $50 plus $2.50 per page translated. Write a linear equation for the amount A earned for translating p pages.
Each problem/part is worth 5 points for a total of 50 points. Points are awarded as correct or not correct – there is no partial credit for these problems.
