Reflection of self-assessment 1-1,1-2,2-1,2-5
Leadership is a combined effort of followers and leaders to achieve the desired
organizational goal. According to me, leaders are made not born. I concur with my selfreflection results that I have the potential to be a successful leader. According to my results, I
scored 47 out of 50, which shows my leadership part but no one is perfect in leadership as
there’s always a new thing to learn. The area I want to improve is to make deadlines and try
to fulfil the task in the meantime time. By following the leadership skills I will be able to
manage, resolve conflicts and make decisions in future as a leader. I also need to improve on
my decision-making skills. (Sadek, W1 Leadership in Health Care, 2023, pp. 25-30)
I am lacking in technical skills and decision-making skills up to some extent, however my
interpersonal skills are good. To improve on these areas, I took considerations from the
course material of leadership that I will make a raw map for future decisions, follow
deadlines and take recommendations from experts. I will work on quantitative reasoning and
will look for the current trends to improve the work and go with the new strategies that will
allow me to think out of the box. (Sadek, W1 Leadership in Health Care, 2023, p. 32)
I agree with the result of my personality attribute of mine according to the self-evaluation, my
weak points are Surgency, Agreeableness and adjustment. According to me I lack in surgency
because at some time I lack in spontaneity of my decisions, Adjustment is lacking from my
side as I take emotional decisions sometimes and Agreeableness can be improved in my
personality by working on my relationship management and social awareness. (Sadek, W2

As a leader my leadership personality is more gravitated towards theory Y, Theory Y
promotes a participative approach to leadership , as opposed to theory X, which advocates
an authoritarian approach to leadership. It shows that as a manager I make it my priority to
help each employee reach their potential and contribute to the organisation. However,
Theory X should be me focus because as I learnt different styles are used on different
situations, so sometimes I have to use approaches of Theory X. (Sadek, W3 Leadership in
Healthcare, 2023, pp. 8-11)
The thing I want to work on is my decision-making skills and that is my SMART Goal, I
will improve this skill of mine with the SMART Goal.

I’ll write a weekly list of the advantages and disadvantages of each option. This will
assist me in looking at my decision in an organized manner and objectively
weighing all of the benefits and disadvantages.

When in doubt, I seek professional advice from friends or colleagues and use past
experience to make decisions. I also meditate to activate my brain and increase my
energy levels, which will help me focus on making decisions.
Relevant
I will emphasize decisions that will assist me in improving my decision-making and
time-management abilities. Begin by outlining the items that need to be completed.
Completing the list gives me a sense of empowerment and accomplishment, which
enhances my decision-making confidence.
Timely
Every week I will review my plans and prioritize the urgent tasks.
