Remember there are a total of two annotations required for this assignment that require a comprehensive critical assessment of reputable journals. You will use key words to research relevant reputable Canadian journal articles that are from 2011 and onward. Each annotation must consist of 350 words each. Each annotation must use the “evaluative” perspective. As noted above, this is an individual assignment and it must conform to APA 7 referencing and writing style guidelines. Detailed Instructions
Using the research database on the library website and training tools and instructions provided (i.e. search for PubMed or ProQuest) or google scholar, you will research two Canadian scholarly journal articles (not from the Internet) and complete two annotations. Please only use journal articles that are Canada and/or Ontario based. The more recent the better, (i.e. closer to the year 2021).
Ensure that your article relates to Canadian hospitals wait lists and select two key words to use to research an article include: “wait time”, “non-elective surgery”, “financial accountability” and “priority level”. The annotated bibliographies must be structured in the proper format and answer the following key questions.
1) Key problem/topic identified/discussed;
2) Data employed for analysis;
3) Findings and/or conclusions; and
4) Your critical assessments.

Deadline: All Assignments must meet the due date in drop box and not accepted via email.
Given this is a Post Graduate Program, no late assignments are accepted. All dates are noted in
the weekly, your calendar and submission box. Therefore the instructor will not accept any
assignment outside of the drop box deadline date and time. Therefore, please do not email
your professor as your assignment will not be accepted. Students are expected to project
manage their time and take responsibility. This includes issues with not being familiar with
FOL, computer dysfunction, uploading issues and/or inability to project manage time
effectively. The only exception is for circumstances that are outlined on the Course
Information Sheet (i.e. death of an immediate family member where you must travel to attend
the funeral or illness that includes a medical note).
As noted on your detailed course syllabus, your individual assignment(s) are based on
your own personal experience and insightful knowledge, and not to be shared with other
students. This is also noted on each of the individual assignments. Therefore, any time you
hand in an assignment with your name on it, it is presumed to have been created entirely by
you unless you indicate otherwise. In other words, you are to provide a citation indicating the
information is from another source. In addition, any content you did not create yourself (i.e.,
ideas, information, data graphics, etc.) must be cited using APA, 7th ed. Resources re: APA

Purpose: Ensure that your assignment achieves the primary purpose at least in a minimal
way. A rubric is provided as an assessment to your learning and to improve your inquiry,
analysis and writing skills.
Readability: Ensure that your assignment is edited to account for the majority of grammar,
punctuation, and spelling errors. If it contains too many errors that create confusion of
meaning and severely limits communication, then it will not meet the minimum standards.

Information on how to complete an annotated bibliography is explicitly described with examples
under the Contents section of FOL under the Written Assignment #2. Supplementary resources

Checklist: You will provide (2) two annotations total…one for each separate article. Please
ensure to prepare no more than 350 words for each of the annotations. It is also important that
you read the articles more than once and take notes to answer the key questions. Please follow
the“evaluative” format provided and write in complete sentences. You cannot use point form or
quoted information in your annotation. Annotations for annotated bibliographies are meant to be
written critically and from an evaluative lens. Therefore, you are never to quote inside an
annotation. Hence, you are expected to summarize using your own critical thinking and writing
by paraphrasing. Therefore, DO NOT COPY information from the article and instead use your
own evaluative lens. Your annotated bibliography is also to be written in the third person.
Therefore, refrain from using the word “I.” You are to paraphrase information in your evaluative
annotations.
